We’re proud to share that a recent product photography and advertising campaign created for Herbaveda has been recognized at the 2026 AAF Phoenix American Advertising Awards, earning top honors for its creative direction, execution, and impact.

This award-winning campaign was produced by James Patrick Photography in collaboration with Lumedia Creative, and represents the type of high-concept, strategy-driven visual storytelling that today’s brands need to stand out in saturated markets.

But more importantly than the award itself is what this project represents: how intentional creative direction, set design, and visual strategy can directly elevate a brand’s perceived value and market positioning.


The Strategy Behind the Herbaveda Campaign

Herbaveda is a wellness brand rooted in natural ingredients, hydration, and holistic health. From the start, we knew this could not be a standard product-on-white-background shoot.

The goal was to create a visual campaign that would:

Building a Custom Set to Tell the Story

To achieve this, we designed and constructed a fully custom terrarium set inside the studio.

This wasn’t a simple prop setup. It was a controlled environment built specifically to:

  • Showcase organic textures like moss, glass, and natural elements
  • Create depth and dimension within the frame
  • Allow for controlled lighting that mimicked natural conditions
  • Support the visual narrative of hydration, growth, and vitality

Every detail in the set was intentional. From condensation effects to the layering of natural materials, the goal was to make the viewer feel the product’s benefits before ever reading a word.


Advanced Lighting and Production Techniques

Lighting played a critical role in bringing this concept to life.

Using a combination of controlled studio lighting and diffusion, we were able to:

  • Simulate natural sunlight filtering through an ecosystem
  • Highlight the product without flattening the environment
  • Create specular highlights that enhanced the perception of moisture and hydration
  • Maintain color accuracy while still achieving a cinematic, editorial look

This level of lighting control is what separates standard product photography from campaign-level imagery.

The result was a collection of visuals that feel immersive, tactile, and alive.
